The British College Secures BAC Re-Accreditation for UK Standards Compliance

Kathmandu: The British College Kathmandu (TBC) has once again secured re-accreditation from the British Accreditation Council (BAC), reinforcing its position as the only college in Nepal to hold this recognition.

The accreditation is valid until 31 May 2030 and follows a comprehensive institutional inspection conducted by a team of BAC inspectors from the United Kingdom. The evaluation covered key areas including academic programmes, teaching quality, governance, student support, facilities, online learning systems, and graduate employability.

The British Accreditation Council is an independent UK-based quality assurance body that has been setting standards for further and higher education for more than four decades. Institutions are assessed on governance, academic management, teaching and assessment, student welfare, infrastructure, and quality assurance systems. Accreditation is granted only to institutions that meet strict international benchmarks and is subject to ongoing monitoring throughout the validity period.

According to the institution, the re-accreditation serves as independent validation of its academic standards and operational quality, ensuring continued confidence among students, parents, and academic partners.

Commenting on the achievement, Dr. Declan P. Bannon, Academic Dean of The British College, said the recognition reflects the strength of the institution’s academic systems and the commitment of its faculty and staff to maintaining high-quality education.

Lucy Fox, Deputy Chief Executive of BAC, stated that the accreditation confirms the college has met rigorous international standards in academic management, governance, student welfare, and institutional quality assurance. She also noted that The British College has been BAC accredited since 2021.

Rajen Kandel, CEO and Founder of The British College and British Education Group, described the re-accreditation as a major milestone for Nepal’s higher education sector, adding that the institution will continue to follow international best practices and strengthen its academic partnerships with UK universities.

As part of the British Education Group, The British College offers internationally recognized degree programmes in collaboration with UK universities and emphasizes industry engagement and graduate success.

The institution stated that the accreditation further strengthens its global credibility and reaffirms its commitment to maintaining internationally recognized standards in higher education.
