Kathmandu: Ncell has partnered with Cimex Inc., the authorised distributor of BYD Auto Industry Co. Ltd. in Nepal, to provide connected vehicle services powered by Ncell Internet of Things (IoT) connectivity.
The partnership is aimed at enhancing the digital driving experience for BYD customers in Nepal by enabling compatible vehicles to access connected services through an embedded Ncell IoT SIM.
Under the collaboration, compatible BYD vehicles delivered through BYD Nepal will come equipped with an embedded Ncell IoT SIM, providing direct in-vehicle internet connectivity. The service supports the BYD App ecosystem and connected infotainment features, allowing users to access online services such as YouTube, Spotify, Karaoke and other digital entertainment directly through the vehicle’s system without relying on a smartphone hotspot or separate Wi-Fi connection.
The availability of specific features will depend on the vehicle model, software version and services available in Nepal. Connectivity will operate through Ncell’s mobile network, while the user experience may vary depending on network coverage, location and vehicle configuration.
Speaking at an event in Kathmandu, Upanga Dutta, Chief Consumer Business Officer at Ncell, said the partnership would bring smart connectivity, infotainment, security and intelligent mobility features closer to BYD customers. “By enabling direct vehicle connectivity for the BYD App and popular infotainment services, we are helping users stay connected without depending on external hotspots or mobile data. Moreover, connecting to the local network ensures more reliable navigation, whether you are on the go or stuck in traffic,” Dutta said.
The partnership also extends to existing BYD vehicle owners. Current BYD customers can visit designated BYD Authorised Service Centres, which are available across 13 locations in Nepal, to get the Ncell IoT SIM installed in their compatible vehicles and access supported connected features.

The specific connectivity plan, validity period and charging details will vary depending on the vehicle and applicable service package.
The collaboration further strengthens Ncell’s growing portfolio of IoT solutions and its efforts to promote connected technologies across different sectors, while supporting BYD’s focus on delivering a more seamless and digitally connected ownership experience in Nepal.
