Munish Kumar Chandna Elected Chairman of the board of Nepal SBI Bank

Kathmandu: Mr. Munish Kumar Chandna, Director representing State Bank of India (SBI), has been elected Chairman of the Board of Directors of Nepal SBI Bank Limited.

The 548th meeting of the Bank’s Board of Directors, held on August 12, 2026, unanimously elected Chandna to the position of Chairman.

Chandna currently serves as Chief General Manager (International Banking-II) at SBI’s International Banking Group, Corporate Office, Mumbai. In his current role, he provides strategic leadership for SBI’s international operations across East and South Asia, Singapore, Australia and key overseas subsidiaries.

Following his election, Chandna took the Oath of Office and Secrecy from Nepal Rastra Bank Governor Prof. Dr. Biswo Nath Poudel during a ceremony held at Nepal Rastra Bank’s Central Office in Baluwatar, Kathmandu, on August 17.

The oath-taking ceremony was attended by senior officials from Nepal Rastra Bank and State Bank of India, along with directors and senior management of Nepal SBI Bank.

Those present included Nepal Rastra Bank Deputy Governor Kiran Pandit, Executive Directors Ramu Poudel and Dirgha Bahadur Rawal, Director Sharan Kumar Adhikari, and SBI Deputy Managing Director (IBG) Kishore Kumar Poludasu.

Nepal SBI Bank’s Directors Ritesh Sinha, Bharat Raj Wasti and Apsara Upreti, Managing Director & CEO Ram Kumar Tiwari, Deputy CEO & Chief Operating Officer Vikas Anand, Chief Financial Officer Rajesh Kumar Panda, Chief Business Development Officer Prabin Muni Bajracharya and Company Secretary Khageshwar Bhatt were also present at the ceremony.
