Kathmandu: Nepali Congress General Secretary Pradip Paudel has made an impassioned appeal to party leaders, cadres and well-wishers to set aside internal differences and unite at the party’s central headquarters in Sanepa to help steer the country through its current political challenges.
In his statement, Paudel highlighted the historic legacy of the Nepali Congress, built on the sacrifices of its senior leaders and the vision of B.P. Koirala, and stressed that the party must remain strong to guide the nation.
Referring to past political developments and the current national situation following the recent general elections, Paudel expressed concern over the actions of the majority government. He warned that in the absence of a vigilant and united opposition, the country could face deep political instability.
Addressing the ongoing internal dispute within the Nepali Congress, Paudel said political disagreements should not be taken to the streets or resolved through courtrooms.
He maintained that political issues must be settled through political dialogue and invited dissatisfied leaders and activists to come to Sanepa for open and sincere discussions.
Paudel also called on the party to take collective responsibility for past mistakes, focus on holding the upcoming 15th General Convention on schedule, and accept the leadership chosen by party cadres to strengthen democracy.
