Kathmandu: Embassies, consulates and other diplomatic missions in Nepal have urged foreign nationals to exercise caution and follow official guidance amid the devastating floods affecting Rasuwa, Nuwakot, Dhading, Gorkha, Chitwan and other parts of the country.
The diplomatic missions expressed deep concern over the disaster and said their thoughts are with all those affected by the flooding.
They advised foreign nationals to avoid traveling to flood-affected areas, visiting affected sites out of curiosity, or approaching rivers, riverbanks and other potentially hazardous locations, even in areas where immediate damage has not been reported.
They also urged those in areas at risk of flooding or landslides to remain in safe locations and closely monitor official updates from the Nepal authorities.
Foreign nationals requiring urgent assistance have been advised to contact the relevant Nepal authorities and their respective embassies or consulates for assistance and guidance.
