Kathmandu: Tranquility Spa has received membership of the International Spa Association (ISPA), becoming the first and only spa in Nepal to join the globally recognized organization, according to the company.
With around 20 outlets across Nepal, the company said the membership marks a milestone for both its business and the country’s spa and wellness industry.
ISPA connects spa and wellness businesses, professional organizations and experts worldwide. The membership will provide Tranquility Spa with access to international practices, industry research, professional resources, training opportunities and emerging technologies and trends.
Focus on International Standards
Tranquility Spa plans to use the membership to improve its services and operational systems by adopting relevant international practices and strengthening staff training and professional development.
The company also aims to share the knowledge and experience gained through ISPA with Nepal’s wider spa and wellness sector, support the development of skilled human resources and expand connections with international markets.
The development comes as Nepal explores its potential in wellness tourism, with the government declaring 2027 as Wellness Year. International collaboration is expected to support efforts to make the country’s spa and wellness industry more organized and competitive.
Suresh Puri, Executive Director of Tranquility Spa, said the membership was a matter of pride for the company and Nepal’s spa and wellness industry. He said the company would bring international knowledge, practices and experience to Nepal and contribute to making the sector more professional and aligned with international standards.
Tranquility Spa said it aims to connect Nepal’s wellness industry with the global market while promoting international standards in the country.
