Kathmand: Two new technologies related to solar energy management and electricity storage have been launched at a time when there is a need of making power system further stable, reliable and effective along with expansion of solar energy production in Nepal.
At a programme organised here today, Huawei launched the ‘FusionSolar 9.0 Smart Solar Energy (PV)’ and ‘LUTERRA Grid-Forming Electricity Storage System (ESS)’.
According to the company, FusionSolar 9.0 Smart Solar Energy (PV) is upgraded digital system developed targeting big-capacity solar projects. This technology has set a target of increasing capacity of solar energy production, making operation and management easier and electricity production more effective through the use of artificial intelligence and digital technology.
Similarly, LUTERRA Grid-Forming Electricity Storage System (ESS) helps store produced electricity as per the need, resupply it during period of high demand and maintain stability of electricity system, added the company.
This technology would be useful to store such power as production of renewable energy fluctuates as per the season. The role of energy storage technology has been considered significant to make electricity system balanced and reliable at a time when efforts are underway for promotion of solar energy along with hydropower in Nepal.
President of Confederation of Nepalese Industry, Birendra Raj Pandey, Director of Huawei Digital Power South Asia, Hou Jinlong, Huawei Nepal’s Chief Executive Officer, Chester Chen, and Director of Huawei Nepal Digital Power, Rohit Chandra Shah, and other stakeholders of renewal energy sector and power developers were present on the occasion.
