Kathmandu: thee GO and Gham Power have signed a strategic Term Sheet to jointly develop a Solar-Powered Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) at the thee GO ChargePoint in Itahari, marking another significant milestone in Nepal’s transition towards clean, reliable, and sustainable energy infrastructure.
The partnership aims to integrate solar power generation with advanced battery energy storage technology to operate EV charging infrastructure more efficiently while reducing dependence on the national electricity grid during periods of peak demand.
The initiative aligns with the shared commitment of both organizations to accelerate Nepal’s clean energy transition and support the country’s rapidly expanding electric mobility ecosystem.
The planned Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) will store surplus solar energy generated during the day and supply clean electricity to EV charging stations during periods of high demand or when solar generation is limited. This integrated solution is expected to improve energy reliability, optimize electricity consumption, and increase the use of renewable energy in EV charging operations.
Speaking on the partnership, Mr. Nabin Adhikari, Business Head – Integrated Energy Solutions at thee GO, said, “This partnership with Gham Power represents another important step in our mission to build Nepal’s most sustainable EV ecosystem.
