Gold Price Declines Nearly Rs. 53,000 from Record High, Trades at Rs. 286,600 per Tola

Kathmandu: Gold prices in the domestic market continued to decline on Monday, marking a significant correction from the recent record high.

According to the Federation of Nepal Gold and Silver Dealers’ Association, the price of fine gold fell by Rs. 13,400 per tola compared to Sunday. Fine gold is currently trading at Rs. 286,600 per tola, down from Rs. 300,000 per tola the previous day.

Gold had reached its all-time high of Rs. 339,300 per tola on Magh 15 (Thursday). However, prices declined sharply the following day, falling to Rs. 318,800 per tola on Friday, further dropping to Rs. 300,000 on Sunday, and declining again on Monday.

Overall, gold prices have fallen by Rs. 52,700 within three trading days from their peak level.

Silver Prices Also Decline

Silver prices also recorded a decline on Monday. Silver, which was trading at Rs. 5,500 per tola on Sunday, fell by Rs. 300 to Rs. 5,200 per tola.

Silver had also reached a historic high of Rs. 7,505 per tola on Magh 15, and has since continued to trend downward.

Impact of International Market

In the international market, gold prices dropped from USD 4,893.20 per ounce on Sunday to USD 4,679.25 per ounce on Monday. Similarly, silver prices declined sharply from USD 85.34 per ounce to USD 69.06 per ounce, according to international media reports.
