Kathmandu: With the aim of nurturing skills in Artificial Intelligence (AI), robotics, and coding among young learners, SkillsUp, in collaboration with STEMpedia, is set to organize the national-level competition “Codebhar 7.0” on Magh 26 at Anupam Foodland, Battisputali, Kathmandu.

The competition is expected to bring together around 500 students from more than 50 schools and colleges across Nepal. Participants aged 7 to 18 years will compete under three categories: Elementary, Junior, and Senior.

Codebhar 7.0 will feature multiple thematic tracks, including Innovation and Entrepreneurship, AI Robo Challenge, Robo Soccer, and Wellness Wave. Participants will present projects aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), focusing on areas such as social innovation, health technology, robotics challenges, and robo football.

More than 100 innovative projects will be showcased during the event. These include fire detection systems, solar tracking systems, automatic pet feeders, medicine reminder devices, water quality monitoring systems, calorie tracking solutions, smart street lighting systems, Bluetooth-controlled doctor robots, queue management systems, and weather monitoring systems. The projects span key sectors such as health, energy, artificial intelligence, automation, climate technology, and eco-innovation.

According to the organizers, the exhibition is expected to attract over 2,500 visitors. SkillsUp stated that the core objectives of Codebhar 7.0 are to promote technical excellence, bridge the gap between theoretical learning and practical application, identify local talent, and foster an entrepreneurial mindset among students.

Winners of the competition will receive national-level awards totaling NPR 1 million. In addition, the top 20 to 25 teams will be selected to represent Nepal at an international competition in Indonesia scheduled for May.

Ahead of the national competition, SkillsUp conducted bootcamp training programs for participating students in collaboration with various schools, further strengthening their technical and presentation skills.
