BYD Celebrates Roll-off of Its 13-Millionth New Energy Vehicle

Shenzhen: BYD, the world’s leading manufacturer of new energy vehicles (NEVs), has reached another historic milestone with the roll-off of its 13-millionth NEV. The commemorative event was held at BYD’s Xiaomo Production Base in the Shenzhen–Shanwei Special Cooperation Zone, featuring the YANGWANG U7 as the milestone model.

In the first half of 2025, BYD’s momentum has shown no signs of slowing down. From January to June, domestic sales reached over 2.113 million units, representing a 31.5% year-on-year growth. Meanwhile, overseas sales surged to 472,000 units, an impressive 128.5% increase compared to the same period last year.

With this strong market performance, BYD has not only maintained its leadership in global NEV sales but has also become the first automaker in the world to achieve the production of 13 million NEVs, setting a new benchmark for the global automotive industry.

The roll-off of the 13-millionth NEV highlights the widespread trust and preference BYD has earned from customers worldwide. The continued innovation of YANGWANG, BYD’s high-end sub-brand, marks a significant breakthrough for Chinese automotive brands in the premium segment. It also reflects the rising global competitiveness and confidence of Chinese manufacturers in the new energy era.
