Kathmandu: Škoda India has reached a significant milestone in its commitment to occupant safety as its latest entry-level SUV, the Škoda Kylaq, secured a prestigious 5-star rating in the Bharat NCAP crash test. This achievement marks the Kylaq as the first Škoda vehicle to be tested under Bharat NCAP, reinforcing the brand’s unwavering focus on delivering world-class safety standards.

The Kylaq recorded an impressive 30.88 points in Adult Occupant Protection and a class-leading 45.00 points in Child Occupant Protection, positioning it as the safest vehicle in its segment. These results highlight Škoda’s strong emphasis on safeguarding both adult and young passengers. With six airbags and more than 25 active and passive safety features offered as standard across all variants including the base model: the Kylaq ensures uncompromised safety at every level.

Further strengthening its family-friendly appeal, the Kylaq delivered outstanding child occupant protection performance. It achieved a perfect 16 points (100%) in the frontal offset barrier test and a full 8 points (100%) in the side-moving deformable barrier test for children aged 1.5 and 3 years. The SUV also secured full marks in the recommended child seat assessment and scored 9 out of 13 points (69%) in the vehicle-based assessment. These results underscore Škoda’s thoughtful engineering and dedication to young passenger safety, making the Kylaq an ideal choice for families seeking peace of mind.

This achievement builds on Škoda’s proven safety legacy, following the success of the Škoda Kushaq and Škoda Slavia, both of which earned 5-star ratings in Global NCAP tests.
