Nepal: TikTok has published its Q1 2025 Community Guidelines Enforcement Report, reaffirming its ongoing commitment to building a safe and inclusive digital environment. The report, which covers the period from January to March 2025, provides a comprehensive overview of TikTok’s global and regional efforts to detect, remove, and address content that violates its Community Guidelines.
In Nepal, TikTok removed a total of 1,876,563 videos during Q1 2025. The platform maintained a high proactive removal rate of 99.6%, with 97.8% of the removed content taken down within 24 hours of being posted.
Global Snapshot
On a global scale, TikTok removed over 211 million videos, representing approximately 0.9% of all content uploaded to the platform during the quarter. Of these:
184,378,987 videos were removed through automated detection systems,
7,525,184 videos were later reinstated following further human review.
TikTok achieved a 99.0% proactive removal rate globally, with 94.3% of violative content removed within the first 24 hours.
Categories of Violations
The report reveals the types of violations that prompted content removal:
- 30.1% for sensitive or mature themes not aligned with TikTok’s policies,
- 15.6% for violating privacy and security standards,
- 11.5% for breaching safety and civility guidelines,
- 45.5% were classified as misinformation,
- 13.8% involved AI-generated or edited media.
These numbers reflect TikTok’s sustained focus on combating misinformation, maintaining user trust, and ensuring digital wellbeing.
