Kathmandu: Gold and silver prices in the Nepali market surged sharply again on Thursday, recording a significant single-day increase.
According to the Federation of Nepal Gold and Silver Dealers’ Association, the price of hallmarked gold rose by NPR 20,800 per tola, reaching NPR 339,300 per tola. Similarly, silver increased by NPR 205, with its price fixed at NPR 7,505 per tola.
On Wednesday, the price of hallmarked gold stood at NPR 318,800 per tola, while silver was traded at NPR 7,300 per tola. Earlier on Tuesday, gold was priced at NPR 309,300 per tola, and silver at NPR 6,870 per tola, indicating a continuous upward trend over the past few days.
In the international market, gold is currently trading at USD 5,560 per ounce, while silver is priced at USD 120 per ounce.
The sharp rise reflects growing volatility in the global precious metals market, with domestic prices responding swiftly to international fluctuations.
