Kathmandu: Capital Hotel and Hospitality Limited, a group company of MS Group, has signed a Hotel Management Agreement with Marriott International to introduce the first JW Marriott hotel in Nepal. The project marks a major milestone for Nepal’s luxury hospitality sector and represents the fourth collaboration between Capital Hotel and Hospitality Limited and Marriott International.
The upcoming JW Marriott Hotel Kathmandu Valley is scheduled to open in early 2031 and will feature 221 luxury guest rooms. Located approximately 15 minutes from Tribhuvan International Airport, the property will offer convenient access to Kathmandu’s major cultural attractions and UNESCO World Heritage Sites.
The hotel is planned to include multiple dining venues, a luxury spa, fitness center, swimming pool, JW Garden, and more than 1,600 square meters of event and meeting space, positioning it as a premier destination for both leisure and business travelers.
The agreement was signed by Gaurav Agarwal, Owner and Managing Director of Capital Hotel and Hospitality Limited, and Rajeev Menon, President, Asia Pacific (excluding China), Marriott International. Additional agreement exchanges were conducted between Shashi Kant Agarwal, representing Capital Hotel and Hospitality Limited, and David Marriott, Chairman of the Board, Marriott International. The signing ceremony was witnessed by Member of Parliament Mingma David Sherpa.
Speaking on the occasion, Gaurav Agarwal said: “Partnering with Marriott once again allows us to create a landmark luxury property that will significantly contribute to Nepal’s growing tourism vision. Our aim is to provide an unforgettable experience that reflects the heart and soul of our beautiful country while meeting the highest global hospitality standards.”
The new hotel will become part of Marriott International’s expanding portfolio across South Asia and will introduce the globally renowned JW Marriott brand’s signature blend of refined luxury, personalized service, and immersive guest experiences to Nepal.
The project is expected to strengthen Nepal’s position as a premium tourism destination while supporting the country’s growing hospitality and tourism industry.
