On Global Recycling Day, BYD Auto Industry Company Limited reaffirms its dedication to environmental sustainability by launching a comprehensive battery recycling and reuse program.

Recognizing the critical role of responsible end-of-life battery management in achieving a truly sustainable EV ecosystem, BYD has partnered with two leading recycling service providers—IT Asset Partners, Inc. (USA) and Anhui Lecheng Lithium-Ion Technology Co., Ltd. (China).

These R2-certified partners will ensure the safe, efficient, and eco-friendly recycling of lithium-ion batteries used in BYD’s electric vehicles. The process includes capacity testing for potential reuse, safe dismantling of non-usable batteries, material recovery of valuable elements like lithium, nickel, and cobalt, and eco-friendly processing through approved refineries and smelters. Speaking on the initiative, Mr. Sahil Shrestha, CEO of Cimex Inc. Pvt. Ltd., emphasized the importance of a circular economy in sustaining the EV revolution.

With Nepal experiencing one of the world’s highest EV adoption rates, responsible battery disposal aligns with the country’s sustainability goals. Through Cimex Inc. Pvt. Ltd., its authorized distributor in Nepal, BYD continues to drive sustainable transportation, renewable energy integration, and responsible battery management, ensuring that sustainability remains a core commitment rather than just a vision.
