Kathmandu: Global mobility and delivery platform inDrive has contributed NPR 7.5 crore (approximately USD 500,000) to the Prime Minister’s Disaster Relief Fund to support the Government of Nepal’s ongoing relief, rehabilitation, and recovery efforts for communities affected by the recent floods.
The contribution was handed over to Finance Minister Dr. Swarnim Wagle in Kathmandu on September 9, 2026, in the presence of representatives from inDrive Nepal.
The contribution comes in the aftermath of the Bhote Koshi flood on August 26, which was triggered by an ice-rock avalanche near the Nepal-China border. The disaster devastated settlements across Rasuwa and downstream areas, including parts of Nuwakot and Dhading. It resulted in significant loss of life, while search and rescue operations continue. The floods also caused extensive damage to homes, schools, bridges, hydropower facilities, and other critical infrastructure.
In addition to its contribution to the Prime Minister’s Disaster Relief Fund, inDrive has provided direct relief assistance to flood-affected families in Bidur Municipality-9, Nuwakot.
As part of the initiative, essential relief supplies including food, solar lights, induction stoves, blankets, and sanitary pads were distributed to families facing immediate needs following the disaster.
Arsen Tomsky, Founder and CEO of inDrive, said, “The floods in Nepal have brought immense loss and hardship to families and communities across the country. Our thoughts are with everyone who has lost loved ones, homes, or livelihoods. Nepal is an important part of the inDrive community, and we want to stand with the people of Nepal at this difficult time. We hope our contribution will help bring immediate support to those who need it most and help affected communities recover and rebuild.”
inDrive has also expressed its deepest condolences to the families who lost loved ones in the Bhote Koshi disaster and extended its solidarity to the thousands of people still awaiting news of their missing relatives.
