Kathmandu: History was created today at the NADA Auto Show 2025 as Nepal’s Prime Minister, Rt. Hon. KP Sharma Oli, together with Mr. Vishnu Kumar Agrawal, Chairman of MAW Vriddhi Group, and Mr. Vivek Sikaria, Managing Director of MAW Vriddhi Group, officially unveiled the Deepal eVTOL, Nepal’s first-ever flying car.

The unveiling marks a revolutionary milestone for Nepal’s mobility landscape, positioning the country alongside global pioneers in sustainable air transportation. Speaking at the event, Mr. Agrawal remarked, “This marks a major milestone in bringing the future of mobility to Nepal.” Mr. Sikaria added, “We are proud to showcase innovation that may redefine transportation in the country.”

The Deepal eVTOL, popularly known as the flying car, is the result of a pioneering collaboration between EHang, the global leader in autonomous aerial vehicles, and Changan Automobile, one of China’s largest automobile manufacturers and parent company of the Deepal new energy brand. Together, they aim to democratize air mobility making flying cars safe, eco-friendly, and accessible, rather than a luxury reserved for a few.

A Leap Toward the Future of Mobility

• Vertical Take-Off and Landing (VTOL): The Deepal eVTOL can lift off and land vertically, redefining urban and intercity mobility.
• Sustainable Transport: Powered by advanced electric propulsion, it addresses land congestion, reduces noise pollution, and lowers carbon emissions.
• Next-Gen Design: A blend of aeronautical engineering and smart technologies, the vehicle combines futuristic aesthetics with cutting-edge safety features.

Changan Automobile has also committed to invest over USD 2.76 billion by 2030 in developing advanced air and sea mobility solutions, underscoring a global shift toward integrated, sustainable transport.
