Lalitpur: Marking a remarkable operational comeback, Daura Thakali has officially reopened its flagship rooftop outlet, daउरा। Rooftop, in Pulchowk, Lalitpur. The reopening took place on Sunday, July 12, exactly four months after a fire incident temporarily halted operations at the popular hospitality destination.
Rebuilding and reopening a premium hospitality venue within a four-month period represents a significant operational achievement. CEO Niven Amatya expressed pride in the team’s dedication, efficiency, and determination in restoring the flagship outlet within the targeted timeframe. The leadership reaffirmed that the brand’s primary focus remains on delivering authentic cuisine, quality experiences, and exceptional service standards that have become central to Daura Thakali’s reputation.

Beyond the remarkable speed of reconstruction, the management highlighted a deeply meaningful moment that strengthened the team’s resolve during the recovery process. The outlet’s symbolic half-bodied sacred deer, along with the statues of Gau Mata and her calf, remained completely unharmed despite the intensity of the fire.
“We are deeply grateful that these sacred symbols survived the fire. It served as a powerful reminder to our entire organization that hope can endure even in the face of challenges,” said a corporate spokesperson.
The management also acknowledged the crucial support and swift response of local authorities in preventing a larger commercial loss. CEO Niven Amatya extended heartfelt gratitude to the Nepal Police, Nepal Army, Lalitpur Metropolitan City Police, and the dedicated firefighting teams whose timely action and courage helped protect the structure and contributed to the successful revival of the outlet.
With its reopening, Daura Thakali looks forward to welcoming guests once again and continuing its commitment to authentic Nepali cuisine, warm hospitality, and memorable dining experiences.
