Upaya, a leading logistics company in Nepal, has launched Upaya Warehousing, a third-party logistics (3PL) facility to modernize Nepal’s supply chain industry. The first warehouse will be constructed on 18+ ropanis (100,000 sq. ft.) of land at Sanga, Kavrepalanchowk, strategically located near Arniko Highway. Construction will begin in April 2025 and is expected to complete by end of 2026.
The total project cost is NPR 1.2 billion (120 crores), with NPR 950 million (95 crores) secured through consortium debt financing led by Citizens International Bank and Macchapuchchre Bank. Dolma Impact Fund II and other investors will contribute equity investments.
The warehouse will provide storage and logistics services for industries such as FMCG, e-commerce, retail, electronics, and auto parts. It will feature Grade A Pre-Engineered Buildings (PEB), High-Density Racking (HDR), and Multi-Tier Shelving, designed to be earthquake-resistant and sustainable, incorporating green energy, waste management, and rainwater harvesting. The design is handled by Corescape Design LLP (India).
Upaya aims to reduce Nepal’s logistics costs, currently 20% of GDP, by combining technology and infrastructure. Co-founder Ranjeev Shrestha emphasized the company’s vision to expand similar warehouses in other cities to enhance efficiency.
Banking leaders, including Citizens Bank CEO Ganesh Pokharel and Macchapuchchre Bank CEO Santosh Koirala, highlighted the growth potential of warehouse infrastructure in Nepal. Managing Director Suman Rayamajhi added that the 3PL warehouse will allow businesses to outsource logistics management, enabling them to focus on growth.
The event was attended by investors, banking executives, logistics experts, and prospective clients, marking a major step forward for Nepal’s logistics sector.
