Kathmandu: Global mobility and delivery platform inDrive is helping driver partners in Nepal strengthen their everyday financial knowledge through its financial literacy course, “Your Finances: Guide to Money Confidence.” More than 2,500 driver partners have already completed the programme’s first module, reflecting strong participation from Nepal’s driver community.
Available through the inDrive App under Driver Mode → DRIVER Academy, the course is designed around the financial realities faced by driver partners whose earnings can vary from day to day depending on working hours, demand and other factors.
The programme combines basic financial education with practical tools that drivers can apply to their own income and expenses.
Four Modules for Everyday Financial Management
Recognising the challenges of managing variable income, inDrive has structured the course into four practical modules covering everyday money management as well as opportunities to better manage earnings through the platform.
- Module 1: Managing Budget
The first module helps drivers understand where their money goes, why income can run out quickly and how to plan and manage daily and monthly expenses more effectively. - Module 2: Achieving Financial Goals
This module focuses on setting realistic financial goals, building an emergency fund, developing regular saving habits and preparing for major purchases. - Module 3: Borrowing Safely
Drivers learn about responsible borrowing, the differences between good and bad credit, and how to assess whether they can realistically afford a loan before taking on additional financial commitments. - Module 4: Getting More Income with inDrive
The final module provides practical in-app guidance to help driver partners understand their earning opportunities and explore ways to increase their income while using inDrive.
Each module combines financial tips with practical guidance related to earning through the platform. Drivers are also given a task or calculator in every module, allowing them to apply the lessons directly to their own financial circumstances.
Turning Financial Lessons Into Practical Action
Through the course, driver partners can learn how to manage their budgets, forecast and grow their income, establish financial goals, make more considered spending decisions and evaluate whether they can afford additional borrowing.
For drivers whose earnings may fluctuate, practical financial knowledge can be particularly relevant to managing day-to-day expenses and making longer-term plans.
Sunita Jeemi Rai, Senior Driver Operations Specialist at inDrive Nepal, said the programme aims to make financial education accessible and practical for driver partners. “Driver partners manage different financial responsibilities every day, while their income can often vary depending on when and how they work. Through ‘Your Finances: Guide to Money Confidence,’ we want to make financial learning simple, practical and accessible within the inDrive app. The course gives drivers useful tools to understand their budget, plan their savings, think carefully before borrowing and make more informed decisions about their earnings.”
The response from participating drivers has also highlighted the programme’s practical approach.
One driver who completed the course said: “This course gave me practical knowledge about saving, budgeting and managing money. It was simple, useful and easy to follow. Since taking it, I’ve started tracking my daily expenses, planning my budget and saving regularly.”
Supporting Driver Partners Beyond Individual Rides
The financial literacy initiative forms part of inDrive’s broader efforts to provide driver partners with learning opportunities beyond individual rides.
By making the course available directly through the DRIVER Academy, the platform is providing drivers with access to financial education within an environment they already use for their work.
inDrive says it will continue making “Your Finances: Guide to Money Confidence” available to driver partners across Nepal and encourage more drivers to explore and complete all four modules.
The initiative reflects the company’s stated focus on fair and people-first mobility, while extending support to areas of drivers’ everyday lives beyond the individual trips they complete through the platform.
