Ranjit Acharya of Prisma Advertising Named Jury Member for Cannes Corporate Media & TV Awards 2026

Kathmandu: In a significant milestone for Nepal’s creative and advertising industry, Ranjit Acharya, Founder, CEO, and Creative Head of Prisma Advertising, has been nominated as a Jury Member for the 17th Cannes Corporate Media & TV Awards 2026.

The nomination marks the first time a Nepali creative professional has been selected to serve on the jury of one of the world’s most prestigious international competitions dedicated to corporate films, documentaries, online media productions, and branded content.

Global Recognition for Nepali Creativity

Founded in 2010 and headquartered in Vienna, Austria, the Cannes Corporate Media & TV Awards is held annually in Cannes, France, and is regarded as a leading global platform recognizing excellence in corporate storytelling and visual media. The festival attracts entries from film producers, agencies, broadcasters, corporations, and students from around the world.

The awards feature 63 competition categories, with winners receiving the highly regarded Dolphin Trophies in Gold, Silver, Black, Blue, and White. Over the years, the jury has included internationally acclaimed professionals, including Oscar and Emmy Award winners.

A Distinguished Career in Advertising and Communications

With more than 35 years of experience in advertising, brand strategy, creative direction, film production, and public relations, Ranjit Acharya is widely recognized as one of the pioneers of Nepal’s communications industry.

Under his leadership, Prisma Advertising has won four consecutive Best Agency of the Year titles and established itself as Nepal’s most awarded independent advertising agency.

Acharya has led several landmark campaigns, including Coca-Cola Nepal’s iconic “Mann Kholaun Coke Sanga” campaign and the historic rebranding of Mero Mobile to Ncell, which featured Nepal’s first-ever purple newspaper masthead takeover. He has also created memorable brand slogans that have become part of everyday Nepali conversation, including “Mutu Chahinchha Mutu,” “Mood Change Turuntai,” “Chiso Bhanekai Coca-Cola,” and “Gari Khana Deu.”

His international achievements include the Bell Ringer Award 2000 from Johnson & Johnson (USA), the ABBY Award 2007 from Ad Club Mumbai, and the BrandLaureate BestBrands Award 2025 in Singapore, making Prisma Advertising the first Nepali agency to receive the honor.

Beyond advertising, Acharya serves as Managing Director of Neelbarahi Films, Founder Director of Biscope Cinema, Chairperson of Sanskriti International School, and Chairperson of DNA Pvt. Ltd. He is also a Distinguished Toastmaster with 26 years of leadership experience in Toastmasters International and is the only Nepali recipient of the organization’s prestigious Presidential Citation Award 2018.

Commenting on the recognition, Acharya said: “Creativity has no passport. Every story told with truth and craft deserves a global stage. This nomination is not mine alone; it belongs to every Nepali creative who dared to dream beyond borders.”

A Proud Moment for Nepal

Acharya’s appointment to the jury represents a major achievement for Nepal’s creative economy and advertising sector. As a jury member, he will evaluate submissions from leading global agencies, production houses, brands, and broadcasters, bringing a perspective shaped by South Asian storytelling, emerging market insights, and decades of creative excellence.
