vivo has officially introduced OriginOS 7, its latest operating system designed to deliver a smoother, smarter and more personalized smartphone experience.
Built around enhanced touch response, fluid motion and sustained performance, OriginOS 7 is engineered to remain responsive even after six years of daily use, according to vivo.
The new operating system brings together performance improvements, advanced multitasking, cross-device connectivity and AI-powered features. At the center of the experience are Origin Workbench, designed for more advanced multitasking, and Jovi, vivo’s personal AI agent for managing tasks across connected devices.
Smoother Performance and Peak Productivity
OriginOS 7 introduces the next-generation Origin Smooth Engine, featuring a redesigned architecture for graphics processing, memory management and system scheduling.
Its Ultra-Core Computing system dynamically allocates processing resources to maintain responsiveness during demanding activities such as gaming and multitasking.
According to vivo, the technology reduces app cold-start times by 10% and improves app page switching by 11%.
The system also introduces Memory Fusion, which improves memory management and reclamation and can provide up to 25GB of additional storage on a 256GB device.
Meanwhile, Dual Rendering is designed to improve rendering efficiency by 14.4%, enabling richer visuals and smoother system animations.
More Natural Touch and Motion
OriginOS 7 also focuses on how the interface responds to touch.
With Origin Animation, interactions such as swipes, taps and transitions are designed around natural physics. Fluid Motion allows interface elements to stretch, bounce and respond dynamically to finger movement, while Spring Animation provides physics-based motion throughout the system.
Together with Seamless Interaction, these features are designed to create smoother scrolling, transitions and interactions across the interface.
Origin Workbench Brings Multitasking Together
A major addition to OriginOS 7 is Origin Workbench, which allows users to manage up to five active applications within a unified workspace.
The feature is designed for scenarios where users need to handle several tasks simultaneously. For example, users can export a high-resolution video while referencing notes, browsing content and communicating in real time.
vivo has also focused on long-term performance. The company says it conducted a 72-month anti-aging test to validate the system’s ability to maintain responsive performance over six years of daily use.
Connecting Smartphones, PCs and Apple Devices
OriginOS 7 is designed to work across devices users may already own.
With supported integrations, Apple Watch can display notifications and synchronize workout and health data with the Origin Health app. AirPods can connect instantly, while users can view battery information through Origin Island and access Spatial Audio support.
Through vivo Office Kit, users can connect iPad, Mac and Windows devices to hand off tasks, synchronize notes in real time and transfer files between screens.
The system also enables files and photos stored in iCloud to be accessed directly through vivo File Manager.
Jovi Brings AI-Powered Cross-Device Assistance
One of the headline additions to OriginOS 7 is Jovi, vivo’s cross-device personal AI agent.
Integrated through vivo Office Kit, Jovi is designed to coordinate tasks between connected smartphones and computers.
For example, users can issue a command from their smartphone and ask Jovi to retrieve a file from a connected computer, summarize its key information and send the results back to the phone.
Jovi can also handle scheduled tasks, including compiling weekly reports or organizing files automatically.
Another feature, Snap Note, can convert photographs of whiteboards, handwritten notes and presentation slides into editable, formatted documents.
vivo has also emphasized user control and transparency. Jovi Security records autonomous actions and requires user authorization for key steps.
Personalizing the Lock and Home Screens
OriginOS 7 extends its design philosophy into personalization features across the lock screen and home screen.
Wiggle Theme transforms personal photographs into interactive liquid-like surfaces that ripple, compress and rebound in response to touch.
Glint Theme uses gyroscope sensing to create dynamic light and shadow effects across wallpapers as the device is tilted.
With StickIt, users can create dynamic photo collages across the lock screen, home screen and Always-On Display.
Meanwhile, Pet Pals introduces interactive companion themes that respond to device movement, charging status, music playback and the transition between day and night.
Availability
The OriginOS 7 Preview Program began rolling out on September 21 for the vivo X300 Pro and select iQOO devices in India, Thailand and Malaysia.
The operating system will subsequently be made available on the X500 series, as well as the new X Fold and V series.
