Kathmandu: A total of 2,556 drivers were booked for violating traffic rules in the last 24 hours in Kathmandu Valley.
According to the Kathmandu Valley Traffic Police Office, as a result, a total Rs 2.239 million revenue has been collected in fines imposed on the traffic rule violators.
Traffic Police Spokesperson, Deputy Superintendent of Police, Naresh Raj Subedi, said 106 drivers faced action for drunk driving, 154 for unauthorized ride-sharing services, 107 for violating traffic signals and 183 for over speeding.
Similarly, 97 cases were recorded for breaching lane discipline, 109 for honking in prohibited areas, 98 for parking on roadsides and 1,672 other breaches.
