Kathmandu: MAW Rides Pvt. Ltd., the authorized distributor of Yamaha motorcycles in Nepal, has successfully concluded its Regional Sales Skill Contest 2082/83, bringing together some of the country’s most talented sales and service professionals from Yamaha dealer networks nationwide.
Organized under the umbrella of the Yamaha Training Academy (YTA), the contest served as a dynamic platform to sharpen frontline skills, recognize outstanding talent, and strengthen Yamaha’s customer-focused sales and service culture across Nepal.
The regional sales contests were conducted across five major cities; Kathmandu, Itahari, Bardibas, Bharatpur, and Nepalgunj, covering all key trade regions from Mechi to Mahakali. Likewise, the service contests were organized in Kathmandu, Butwal, Bardibas, Itahari, and Nepalgunj.
Participants were evaluated on a comprehensive range of competencies including product knowledge, competitor analysis, automobile fundamentals, customer handling, and practical sales and service skills.
Sales Skill Contest Winners
- Winner: Chudamani Acharya – B and B Auto Traders Pvt. Ltd., Biratchowk
- 1st Runner-Up: Samundra Pangeni – Vaw Enterprises Pvt. Ltd., Pokhara
- 2nd Runner-Up: Anish Maharjan – D&D Autolink Pvt. Ltd., Sitapaila
Service Skill Contest Winners
- Winner: Prabin Sanda – Moto Craft, Gongabu
- 1st Runner-Up: Niroj Shrestha – Risik Automobiles, Kumaripati
- 2nd Runner-Up: Dipan Sarkar – Kreshav Commercial, Damak
The winners distinguished themselves among a highly competitive pool of participants and secured their places in the upcoming national-level competition. As part of the recognition, all winners will receive an opportunity to visit Yamaha’s manufacturing facility in Parasi, Bhairahawa. Additionally, the winners of the Service Skill Contest will earn the opportunity to participate in the prestigious Yamaha World Skill Contest.
A total of 30 finalists (comprising the top three performers from each region across both Sales and Service categories) have qualified for the National Sales Skill Contest. Their achievement reflects not only individual excellence but also the dedication of Yamaha dealerships toward continuous learning and professional development.
In a major development this year, MAW Rides and Yamaha Training Academy adopted an integrated format by combining both Sales and Service categories into a single joint national event. The National Skill Contest 2082/83 is scheduled to take place on 16th Jestha 2083 at the Yamaha Training Academy in Tripureshwor, Kathmandu, beginning at 9:00 AM.
Sales contestants will undergo rigorous assessments including written examinations, product demonstrations, and viva sessions, while service participants will be evaluated across categories such as Beginners, Bronze, Engine, Electrical, and FI Systems.
MAW Rides believes the initiative extends far beyond competition. By investing in skill development at the grassroots level, Yamaha continues to strengthen its dealer network while enhancing the overall customer experience throughout Nepal.
