Kathmandu: Foreign Minister Dr. Arzu Rana Deuba highlighted the strong cultural and historical bonds between Nepal and Thailand, stating that both nations share enduring similarities in values such as hospitality, tolerance, and mutual respect.
Speaking at the inauguration of the “Thai Flavors in the Himalayas” and the Bhat-Bhateni Thai Fair, held in Kathmandu today, Minister Rana emphasized the long-standing bilateral relationship between the two countries, adding that cultural affinity has been a key bridge in strengthening people-to-people connections.
Underscoring tourism as a pillar of shared prosperity, Dr. Rana called on Thai investors to explore opportunities in Nepal’s growing tourism and hospitality industries, citing Nepal’s vast potential and rich cultural landscape.
She further stated that Nepal is advancing steadily in entrepreneurship and production, noting that Nepali-made goods especially handicrafts have gained growing attention in international markets. In this regard, she urged Thai industrialists to consider investment partnerships in Nepal.
Reflecting on diplomatic developments, the Foreign Minister recalled the recent official visit of Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli to Thailand, which she said had yielded valuable agreements and understandings across both government and private sectors. She stressed the importance of continuing high-level exchanges to deepen ties further.
The Thai Fair was jointly organized by the Embassy of Thailand in Nepal and Bhat-Bhateni Supermarket, aiming to enhance cultural exchange and promote Thai products and cuisine to the Nepali public.
