Kathmandu: Paramount Motors Pvt. Ltd., the authorized distributor of MG Motors in Nepal, is set to introduce the all-electric MG U9 EV in the Nepali market. The premium electric pickup will be available in two variants: Luxury and Flagship.
The MG U9 EV is designed to deliver both performance and efficiency. It features a dual-motor setup with a Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor, producing a combined power output of 325 kW. The vehicle generates 700 Nm of torque and can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 5.8 seconds, with a top speed of 190 km/h.
Built to handle diverse terrains, the pickup is equipped with air suspension, a double wishbone front suspension, and a multi-link rear suspension. It also offers multiple driving modes, including Normal, Eco, Sport, Snow, Tow, Off-Road, and Custom.
For long-distance travel, the MG U9 EV comes with a 102.2 kWh battery, offering a range of up to 430 km on a single charge. It supports DC fast charging, allowing the battery to charge from 20% to 80% in approximately 42 minutes. The vehicle also features Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) capability, enabling it to power external devices.
Inside, the vehicle offers a premium experience with a 12.3-inch infotainment system, an 8-speaker JBL sound system, and a digital instrument cluster. Higher-end variants include features such as ventilated and massage seats, memory functions, and ambient lighting.
The pickup also offers practical utility with a payload capacity of 685 kg and a towing capacity of up to 3,500 kg.
In terms of safety, the MG U9 EV is equipped with advanced driver assistance systems, including autonomous emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist, and blind spot detection. It also features a 360-degree camera and parking sensors for added convenience.
With this launch, Paramount Motors aims to expand Nepal’s electric vehicle segment by introducing a high-performance electric pickup tailored for both urban and off-road use.
