
Kathmandu: Lawmakers have drawn attention of the government on contemporary issues in today’s meeting of the House of Representatives.
On the occasion, Aman Lal Modi blamed of irregularities on procurement process of Jagadulla hydropower project to be constructed in Dolpa district and demanded investigation into it.
Saying activities were carried out against public procurement act and regulations, he asked the government to stop illicit capital flight from Nepal and take necessary process to return the money sent abroad.
Similarly, Bimala Subedi mentioned that a person lost his/her life and three others were injured when they were hit by a public bus at Koteshwor-Tinkune area today, demanding arrangement of compensation to the deceased’s family and treatment to the injured ones.
She argued that though the government has adopt a policy of displacing 20-year-old vehicles, it has not been implemented.
Likewise, Prabhu Sah Armed Police Force should not cause trouble to the citizens at border areas in Tarai.
He demanded the government to pay attention not to allow shortage of chemical fertilizer.
Bhagawati Chaudhary urged the government to allocate enough budget for Gadhi rural municipality in Sunsari district as it has potential of tourism while Bhanu Bhakta Joshi demanded to pass the bill as all structures of Sahid Dasharath Chanda Health Science University.
Similarly, Manish Jha drew government’s attention to complete the construction of international airport imagined at Janakpurdham as soon as possible as well as Mahendra Kumar Raya asked the government to allocate necessary budget for the arrangement of irrigation as Manara Shisawa municipality and Samasi rural municipality in Mahottari district are facing drought.
Mahesh Bartaula mentioned about the possibility of operating podway as the smart public transport even in Nepal while Mahesh Basnet stressed the need of reducing the electricity fare for the use of drinking water.
Similarly, Menaka Kumari Pokhrel requested the government to pay attention on time as youths are found involved much in drug abuse.
Madhav Sapkota, Ranju Kumari Jha, Rana Kumari Balampaki Magar, Ranendra Barali, Yogendra Mandal, Rajendra Kumar Rai among others also drew government’s attention on contemporary issues.
