Kathmandu: The Nepalese Young Entrepreneurs’ Forum (NYEF) Kathmandu Chapter successfully concluded its 8th Annual General Meeting (AGM), electing Mr. Anubhav Shrestha as its new President along with a newly elected Executive Committee that will guide the chapter through its next phase of growth and impact.
Addressing the event, Mr. Anubhav Shrestha shared his vision of building a stronger, more connected, and purpose-driven NYEF Kathmandu. He emphasized that the organization should be more than a professional network—it should be a community where young entrepreneurs find mentorship, meaningful collaboration, trusted relationships, and opportunities to grow together.
Describing NYEF as an institution that has profoundly shaped his own entrepreneurial journey, Mr. Shrestha reaffirmed his commitment to strengthening the chapter’s role in developing the next generation of business leaders. He stressed that entrepreneurship is not only about building successful businesses but also about creating employment, driving innovation, solving societal challenges, and contributing to Nepal’s long-term economic prosperity.
Reflecting on the evolving business environment, Mr. Shrestha acknowledged the resilience shown by Nepal’s youth entrepreneurial community despite economic uncertainty. He encouraged young entrepreneurs to view periods of change not as obstacles but as opportunities to innovate, adapt, and lead with confidence. He further committed to fostering a culture of knowledge sharing, mentorship, responsible leadership, and collective success within NYEF Kathmandu while expanding collaboration with national and international partners.
Addressing the Annual General Meeting as the Chief Guest, Mr. Ganesh Parajuli, Member of Parliament, congratulated Mr. Shrestha and the newly elected Executive Committee, extending his best wishes for a successful tenure. He highlighted the vital role of youth entrepreneurship in strengthening Nepal’s economy through innovation, employment generation, and private sector development. He emphasized that Nepal’s demographic advantage can only be transformed into sustainable economic growth when young people are encouraged to become entrepreneurs, innovators, and job creators. He also reaffirmed the importance of close collaboration between policymakers and the private sector to build an enabling environment where young enterprises can thrive.
Delivering his remarks as the Guest of Honour, Mr. Anjan Shrestha, President of the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI), underscored the immense potential of Nepal’s young entrepreneurs in shaping the country’s economic future. He noted that today’s youth possess the creativity, technological capability, and global outlook needed to transform Nepal into a more competitive and innovation-driven economy. He emphasized that institutions such as NYEF serve as vital platforms for nurturing entrepreneurship, developing future business leaders, encouraging responsible enterprise, and strengthening Nepal’s startup ecosystem. Reaffirming FNCCI’s commitment to supporting youth entrepreneurship, he stated that the Federation will continue working closely with NYEF to promote innovation, improve access to finance and mentorship, strengthen business networking, and create greater opportunities for young entrepreneurs across the country.
