Kathmandu: GoldenGate International College, through the Golden Gate Basketball Club, is organizing a basketball tournament for students who have recently graduated from the SEE examination. The tournament will be held on May 22–23, 2026 (Jestha 8–9, 2083) at the college premises in Battisputali, Kathmandu.

According to the college, the tournament aims to identify young basketball talent, encourage student participation in sports, and provide exposure to a national-level sports environment. Golden Gate Basketball Club, a 13-time national champion, stated that the event will offer young players a platform to demonstrate their skills and competitive abilities.

The winning team will receive a cash prize of Rs. 20,000, while the runner-up team will receive Rs. 10,000. The tournament’s Most Valuable Player (MVP) will also be awarded a pair of basketball shoes.

All participating students will have the opportunity to join a free 15-day basketball camp led by senior coach Manish Nakarmi along with national-level players. The camp is expected to help participants further develop their basketball skills and performance.

Students participating in the tournament who have passed the SEE examination will also be eligible for special scholarships for admission to Grade 11 at GoldenGate International College. Outstanding players may also receive an opportunity to join the Golden Gate Basketball Club, according to the organizers.
