Kathmandu: The Carlsberg Golf Classic 2026, organized by Gorkha Brewery Pvt. Ltd., concluded successfully on April 10 and 11 at the prestigious Royal Nepal Golf Course, bringing together 130 golf enthusiasts for two days of competitive play and premium sporting experience.
Played in the Stableford format with scores calculated at ¾ handicap, the tournament delivered a fair and competitive field across multiple categories.
In the Men’s category, Karbir Tamang emerged as the winner with 48 points on countback, while Ashmank Karki secured the Runner-Up position with the same score. The Best Gross Winner title was claimed by Hari Bahadur Thapa with a score of 35.
In the Ladies category, Sushma Singh won with 36 points, while Tara Karki Chitrakar finished as Runner-Up with 34 points on countback.
In the Senior Men’s (65 years and above) division, Vijay Moktan claimed the winner’s title, with Mohan Gurung as Runner-Up. The Super Senior Men’s (75 years and above) title went to Mani Lal Thapa.
Among women participants, Devi Pulami won the Senior Ladies (60 years and above) category, while Sandhya Rai secured the Super Senior Ladies (70 years and above) title.
A standout highlight of the tournament came when Hari Bahadur Thapa achieved a Hole-in-One at Hole No. 12. Karbir Tamang also earned the Most Birdies award with four birdies during the competition.
Special awards were presented to Saroj Thapa for Longest Drive at Hole 11 and Khim Gauchan for Closest to the Pin at Hole 12. The Sportsmanship Award was presented to Sashi Kiran Rayamajhi.
The tournament once again reflected Carlsberg’s commitment to promoting sportsmanship, camaraderie, and premium sporting experiences, while strengthening its association with golf as a lifestyle sport in Nepal.
