Kathmandu: Premier International IB Continuum School delivered a historic and record-breaking performance at the World Scholar’s Cup Kathmandu Regional Round 2026, securing the competition’s highest individual honor, the Jac Khor Award, the prestigious Overall Champion Team title, and an extraordinary total of 718 awards.
Shruti Shrestha (IBDP 1) won the coveted Jac Khor Award, marking a remarkable fourth consecutive victory. Shruti previously secured the title at the Kathmandu Regional Round 2025, the Bangkok Global Round 2025, and the Tournament of Champions held at Yale University, USA, in 2025, further strengthening her legacy as one of the competition’s most outstanding scholars.
Premier also claimed the Overall Champion Team title through the exceptional performance of Rishit Mainali, Drishya Ratna Shakya, and Nripsha Karki, who emerged as the highest-scoring team of the tournament. Rishit secured 9 Gold medals, 9 Silver medals, and 4 trophies, Drishya earned 8 Gold and 8 Silver medals, while Nripsha achieved 12 Gold medals, 3 Silver medals, and 1 trophy.
Overall, Premier recorded an outstanding total of 718 awards, including 313 Gold medals, 387 Silver medals, and 18 trophies, representing one of the most dominant performances in the history of the Kathmandu Regional Round. By securing both the top individual and top team honors, Premier demonstrated exceptional academic excellence and competitive strength.
The school’s dominance was further reinforced by two additional high-performing senior teams. The team led by four-time Jac Khor Award winner Shruti Shrestha, alongside Aarav Krishna Shrestha and Rayya Koirala, earned a combined total of 22 Gold medals, 12 Silver medals, and 5 trophies. Similarly, the team comprising Tenzing Dawoe Lama, Hriddhima Agarwal, and Aarjal Adhikari secured 17 Gold medals, 6 Silver medals, and 3 trophies.
As the institution that introduced the World Scholar’s Cup to Nepal in 2019 and continues to host the Kathmandu Regional Round, Premier International IB Continuum School remains committed to fostering global academic engagement and excellence among students.
