Kathmandu: BYD, the world’s leading New Energy Vehicle (NEV) manufacturer, has announced a landmark global achievement as the BYD Dolphin all-electric hatchback surpasses 1 million cumulative sales worldwide, becoming the fastest EV hatchback in China to reach this milestone. This global success holds special significance for Nepal, where the BYD Dolphin has emerged as a transformative force in the country’s electric mobility journey.

Launched in Nepal in September 2023 by Cimex Inc. Pvt. Ltd., the authorized distributor of BYD Auto Industry Co. Ltd., the BYD Dolphin has rapidly established itself as Nepal’s No.1 hatchback across all powertrains. In a market where the hatchback segment had been steadily declining, the Dolphin reignited consumer interest by offering a compelling combination of advanced safety, intelligent technology, and outstanding value.

In just over two years, more than 2,500 BYD Dolphins are now on Nepali roads, reflecting the strong trust placed by Nepali families in the brand.
