Mahendranagar: Police here arrested a person on the charge of his involvement in the killing of a 15-year-old girl.

The arrested is Rambabu Shah, 35, of Ichhapur of Kshireshwornath municipality-9. He was apprehended late night and presented before media today.

Anjali Kumari Yadav from Bateshwor rural municipality-5 in Dhanusa was murdered at her rented room at Kataiyachauri of Janakpurdham submetropolis-4 on Monday.

Police confirmed that prior to this, Yadav had spent a five-year jail term for murdering his spouse. He was released some five years ago.

Anjali’s mother and another 14-year-old girl have been injured in the attack and are being treated in the Dharan-based BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences. Police are further investigating the case, it has been said.
