Kathmandu: Nepal Automobile Importers and Manufacturers Association (NAIMA) organized a press conference at The Soaltee Hotel, Kathmandu, unveiling key details of NAIMA Nepal Mobility Expo 2026. The major highlights of the second edition of the Expo were announced on Monday in the presence of media representatives, sponsors, partners, exhibitors, NAIMA Board Members, member companies, and stakeholders from Nepal’s automobile and mobility sector.
NAIMA Nepal Mobility Expo 2026 will be held from August 11 to 16, 2026 (Shrawan 26 to 31, 2083) at Bhrikutimandap, Kathmandu. Organized as Nepal’s largest automobile and mobility expo, the event will feature 51 stalls, more than 55 brands, and over 40 new product launches. The Expo will showcase two-wheelers, four-wheelers, commercial vehicles, electric and hybrid mobility solutions, emerging technologies, services, and other mobility-related products.
Speaking at the press conference, NAIMA President Ms. Ritu Singh Vaidya shared that NAIMA was established one year ago with 21 member companies representing Nepal’s automobile importers and manufacturers and has now expanded to 36 major member companies. According to her, the growth reflects the industry’s confidence in NAIMA, the need for a unified platform, and NAIMA’s expanding role as a responsible voice for Nepal’s mobility sector.
President Vaidya stated that NAIMA’s vision, “Empowering Growth Through Mobility,” and its mission, “Mobility for All,” extend beyond the Expo and represent the organization’s broader commitment toward mobility, accessibility, employment, entrepreneurship, public service delivery, and economic growth. She emphasized that improved mobility creates greater opportunities, and when people, businesses, and activities can move efficiently, the nation progresses.
She further highlighted that over the past year, NAIMA has undertaken several key initiatives, including continuous advocacy for mobility sector reforms, successful completion of the first edition of the Expo, support for capacity-building training for 1,610 traffic police personnel in Kathmandu Valley, emergency assistance for the reconstruction of offices damaged during recent demonstrations, and support to the Kathmandu Valley Traffic Police Office and the Department of Transport Management. She also informed that NAIMA has been collaborating with government agencies on traffic management, road safety, public awareness campaigns, and workshops involving national and international experts.
President Vaidya also shared that NAIMA has institutionalized several major initiatives, including NAIMA Mobility Expo, NAIMA Monthly Mobility Sambaad, NAIMA Mobility Journal, and NAIMA Capacity Building Training Sessions. She informed that at least 10 percent of Expo ticket revenue will be allocated toward research fellowships and training initiatives, while research papers and articles produced through the fellowship programme will be published in the NAIMA Mobility Journal.
She further stated that NAIMA plans to organize the NAIMA Mobility Conclave in the future and, in collaboration with the Ministry of Education and the Government of Nepal, develop structured training programmes focused on skill development and employment generation in the mobility sector.
The press conference also revealed that NAIMA is exploring the possibility of organizing an additional mobility expo focused on commercial mobility brands and related stakeholders due to increasing demand from members and industry participants. Expressing regret that some interested members could not be accommodated due to space limitations, President Vaidya emphasized the need for larger and more modern exhibition infrastructure in Nepal.
Addressing the event, NAIMA Board Member Mr. Sandeep Sharda stated that the private sector remains a key pillar of Nepal’s economy. He highlighted that exhibitions of this scale contribute significantly to expanding business opportunities, promoting investment, generating employment, and strengthening economic mobility.
