TikTok, Nepal Tourism Board Launch #VisitNepal Campaign to Boost Digital Tourism Promotion

Kathmandu: TikTok, in partnership with the Nepal Tourism Board (NTB), has launched the #VisitNepal initiative aimed at strengthening Nepal’s tourism promotion through creator-led digital storytelling and content creation.

As part of the initiative, the two organizations are conducting a three-day workshop series to train tourism entrepreneurs, travel content creators, trekking guides, mountaineers, and other tourism stakeholders in creating engaging short-form video content for global audiences.

The workshops focus on practical skills such as video production, digital storytelling, audience engagement, content growth strategies, brand collaborations, and responsible content creation. TikTok will also provide training to small and medium-sized tourism businesses on using the platform to showcase their services and reach wider audiences.

According to the Nepal Tourism Board, the initiative is designed to highlight Nepal’s natural beauty, cultural heritage, gastronomy, adventure tourism, and lesser-known destinations while supporting the growth of the country’s digital creator ecosystem.

Speaking on the occasion, Sunil Sharma, spokesperson for the Nepal Tourism Board, said digital platforms are playing an increasingly important role in influencing travel decisions. He noted that the collaboration aims to strengthen storytelling skills among tourism businesses and creators while nurturing local talent and contributing to Nepal’s growing digital economy.

Ferdous Mottakin, Head of Public Policy and Government Relations for South Asia at TikTok, said the platform has transformed how people discover destinations, cultures, and travel experiences. He added that the partnership will empower local creators and tourism businesses to share Nepal’s rich heritage and breathtaking landscapes with audiences around the world.

The workshop series includes interactive learning sessions, hands-on content creation guidance, and discussions with industry experts to help participants build stronger connections with audiences through authentic digital storytelling.

Through the #VisitNepal campaign, TikTok and the Nepal Tourism Board aim to enhance Nepal’s global tourism visibility while equipping local creators and tourism businesses with the skills needed to thrive in the digital era.
