Sunway Startup and Idea Fest Begins Tomorrow, Showcasing Over 150 Startups and Innovations

Kathmandu: The highly anticipated Sunway Startup and Idea Fest 2025, organized in association with TingTing and powered by Sasto Tickets, is set to kick off tomorrow, Thursday, November 13 (Kartik 27) at Anupam Foodland, Battisputali, Kathmandu. The two-day event will bring together over 150 startups and innovations from all seven provinces of Nepal, celebrating creativity, entrepreneurship, and technology.

Jointly organized by Living with ICT, ICT Foundation Nepal, and Squad of Changemaker, the festival will feature a dynamic range of exhibits covering software, robotics, drones, AI technology, rockets, and aerospace innovations.

The fest will run for two days (Thursday and Friday, Kartik 27 and 28), featuring not only exhibitions but also drone and robotics competitions, along with a job fair connecting students, graduates, and companies.

More than 50 semifinalists from various categories of the ICT Award 2025—including Startup Innovation, Product Innovation, Rising Star Innovation, and Social Innovation—will also showcase their work. Visitors will be able to observe, interact, and vote for their favorite products and ideas during the exhibition.

According to the organizers, the primary goal of the event is to promote and empower young startups, students, and innovators from across Nepal while fostering a strong entrepreneurial ecosystem. Entry to the fest is free, encouraging youths and the general public to explore Nepal’s latest creative technologies and solutions.

The event will also host special product demo and networking sessions designed for investors and venture capitalists seeking potential partnerships with emerging startups.

The Sunway Startup and Idea Fest 2025 is expected to attract a diverse audience, including entrepreneurs, corporate leaders, policymakers, government officials, investors, and students. Organizers believe the event will provide a vital platform to understand Nepal’s evolving startup and innovation landscape and highlight cutting-edge technologies being developed by Nepali youths.

Sunway College, known for its focus on Artificial Intelligence (AI) and international-level education, will also showcase several of its AI-driven projects at the fest. AI-based product TingTing serves as the In Association partner, while Sasto Tickets, a leading Nepali startup, joins as the Powered By sponsor.

The event will further create opportunities for startups to seek investment, while IT students and job seekers can explore potential internships and career pathways.

Meanwhile, the ICT Award 2025 widely regarded as one of Nepal’s most prestigious recognitions in the ICT sector is currently undergoing its selection process across 15 categories, with over 700 online nominations received this year, according to the organizers.
