Kathmandu: The British College (TBC) proudly marked a major milestone as it hosted its 11th Graduation Ceremony at The Soaltee, Kathmandu, celebrating the dedication and success of its students. This year’s graduates received awards from Leeds Beckett University (LBU), the University of the West of England (UWE), and Keele University.
In a record-breaking achievement, 639 students graduated from TBC’s undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, along with 125 graduates from The British Model College. Families, friends, faculty, and distinguished guests came together to make it one of the most memorable celebrations in the College’s history.
The day featured two ceremonies: the School of Business (BBA, MBA, HM, and EMBA programmes) in the morning, and the School of IT (BSc (Hons) Computing, BSc (Hons) Cyber Security & Digital Forensics, MSc IT, and MSc Advanced Computer Science) together with Cambridge A-Level students in the afternoon. The scale of this year’s event reflected TBC’s continued growth and reputation as one of Nepal’s leading higher education institutions.
The ceremony was graced by graduates, their proud families, and faculty members, along with distinguished guests, including:
- Rajen Kandel, Group CEO, British Education Group
- Mahendra Kandel, Executive Director, The British College
- H.E. Dr Luke Beaumont, Deputy British Ambassador
- Tim Gocher OBE DL, CEO, Dolma Fund Management
- Dr Declan P. Bannon, Academic Dean, The British College
- Michael Rutland OBE, Advisor to TBC

The ceremony began with the traditional lighting of the Panas by Mr Rajen Kandel — symbolising enlightenment and new beginnings — followed by inspiring speeches from senior leaders and guests. Each speaker congratulated the graduates and urged them to pursue global opportunities with courage, compassion, and integrity.
Speaking at the event, Mr Rajen Kandel, Group CEO of the British Education Group, said: “This ceremony is not just a celebration of academic success but a reminder of what determination and global education can achieve together. Our graduates are stepping into the world as confident, capable, and compassionate leaders who will make a difference both in Nepal and beyond.”
Further remarks by Dr Declan P. Bannon, Academic Dean of The British College, and student representatives added a personal dimension to the ceremony, reflecting on the journey, challenges, and triumphs that led to this proud moment.
Outstanding students were also honoured with Excellence Awards, recognising exceptional academic performance, leadership, and contribution to college life.
The event concluded with a Vote of Thanks by Mr Mahendra Kandel, Executive Director of The British College, followed by a celebratory meal, photography sessions, and moments of reflection shared among graduates and families.
The British College extends its heartfelt congratulations to the Class of 2025, wishing every graduate continued success as they embark on their professional and personal journeys.
