Kathmandu: Siddhartha Bank has launched its API banking platform, ‘Rapid’, at Nepal Fintech Expo 2026, aiming to simplify banking services for businesses through digital integration.
Rapid is a Banking as a Service (BaaS) platform that uses Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) to connect banking systems with fintech companies, corporate customers and digital service providers.
According to the bank, the platform will allow corporate customers to access multiple banking services directly through their existing software systems without having to log in to separate banking platforms.
Through Rapid, customers can check account balances, download bank statements, manage treasury operations and automate transaction reconciliation using their existing software or Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems.
Simplified Banking Integration and Security
Customers can connect their bank accounts through the ‘Connect with API Banking’ option by completing a one-time registration form, similar to the mobile banking registration process. Most subsequent procedures can be completed online, the bank said.
The platform also digitizes the customer consent process to make service activation easier and more transparent.
Siddhartha Bank said Rapid incorporates end-to-end encryption, multi-factor authentication and other security measures to protect customer data and financial transactions.
The platform is designed to serve small, medium-sized and large businesses by enabling them to manage financial activities more efficiently through their existing systems.
The bank expects Rapid to strengthen collaboration among banks, fintech companies and digital service providers while supporting the expansion of digital banking services in Nepal.
