Kathmandu: GWM Nepal has officially launched the all-new ORA 5 EV in the Nepali market, introducing a premium electric SUV that combines advanced technology, safety, and long-range performance.
The vehicle was unveiled during a special event in Kathmandu attended by representatives from GWM Global, GWM Nepal, media professionals, and automotive enthusiasts. Following its launch in China and Thailand, Nepal has become one of the key international markets for the ORA 5 EV.
Marketed under the theme “Designed with Intelligence, Shaped by Elegance,” the ORA 5 EV aims to cater to the growing demand for smart and sustainable mobility solutions in Nepal. According to VG Impex Pvt. Ltd., the authorized distributor of GWM vehicles in Nepal, the SUV has been tailored to meet the needs of modern Nepali drivers while adapting to local road conditions.
The ORA 5 EV is available in two variants. Under a special introductory offer, the Mid Variant is priced at Rs. 4.699 million, while the Top Variant is available for Rs. 5.199 million.
One of the vehicle’s key highlights is its driving range of up to 520 kilometers on a single charge. The SUV also features 200 mm ground clearance, a panoramic sunroof, premium seating, a 360-degree surround-view camera, a 180-degree chassis-view camera, and self-healing paint technology.
In terms of safety, the ORA 5 EV has received both 5-Star ANCAP and 5-Star Euro NCAP safety ratings. It comes equipped with more than 25 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), including Lane Keep Assist, Automatic Emergency Braking, Adaptive Cruise Control, and Traffic Sign Recognition. The vehicle also offers 33 storage compartments to enhance practicality for everyday use.
GWM currently operates in more than 170 countries and regions and has sold over 10 million vehicles globally. Company officials expressed confidence that the ORA 5 EV will set a new benchmark for smart, safe, and environmentally responsible transportation in Nepal.
With its competitive pricing, premium features, advanced safety technologies, and impressive range, the ORA 5 EV is expected to strengthen GWM’s presence in Nepal’s rapidly expanding electric vehicle market.
