Kathmandu: Dongfeng Motor Corporation’s premium brand Voyah has officially unveiled the all-new Taishan X8, a large five-seater SUV available in both electric vehicle (EV) and plug-in hybrid (PHEV) variants. The PHEV version offers an impressive electric-only range of up to 310 km.

The Taishan X8 marks a major technological milestone as the first vehicle to feature the latest iteration of Huawei HarmonyOS, bringing a next-generation cockpit experience. The system includes a dual 15.6-inch 2K infotainment display setup, capable of operating independently or together, with brightness levels reaching up to 1000 nits.

Positioned as the fourth SUV in Voyah’s lineup and the second model under the Taishan series, the X8 sits slightly below the flagship Taishan model. While it retains similar design language, the X8 adopts a more refined approach with fewer chrome accents and a cleaner overall look.

In terms of dimensions, the Taishan X8 measures 5200 mm in length, 2025 mm in width, 1814 mm in height, and features a 3090 mm wheelbase, making it a spacious offering in the large SUV segment.

Voyah has confirmed that the Taishan X8 will be built on an advanced 800V platform with 5C fast-charging capability. The PHEV variant is expected to feature a 65 kWh battery pack, likely supplied by CATL, while the fully electric version could offer up to a 120 kWh battery making it the brand’s largest pure EV SUV to date.

The Taishan X8 will enter a highly competitive new-energy SUV market, going up against models such as the BYD Bao 8, Zeekr 8X, and Huawei’s Aito M8. While official pricing has not yet been announced, it is expected to be positioned below the flagship Taishan range.

Order books for the Taishan X8 are anticipated to open in the second half of 2026. Notably, the model may be marketed internationally under the name “Titan X8,” indicating Voyah’s broader global ambitions.
