Yamaha Marks a New Era of Conscious Performance with Nepal’s First Hybrid Motorcycle Featuring Hi-Tech for Next Generation

Kathmandu: Yamaha Motor Company has officially introduced Nepal’s first hybrid motorcycle, marking a major milestone in the country’s two-wheeler industry and creating an entirely new segment in the market. The grand launch event was held at Sky Tower, one of the capital’s iconic landmarks, symbolizing Yamaha’s vision of elevating innovation and performance to new heights.

The event was uniquely curated in two phases, reflecting Yamaha’s strong connection with both digital and riding communities. The first phase hosted influencers and content creators for an exclusive preview, while the second brought together media, business partners, dealers, and members of the riding fraternity, including the Yamaha riding community such as Blue Streaks. The evening was attended by key figures including Vishnu Kumar Agarwal, Deepak Kumar Agrawal, Rajdeep Singh, and Bipin Singh.

Notable personalities such as Barsha Basnet and Shreehari Poudel also attended, while the unveiling itself was uniquely conducted by a robot alongside a human; symbolizing hybrid technology and collaboration.

Adding to the excitement, Yamaha officially announced Anoop Bikram Shahi as its brand ambassador, reinforcing the brand’s bold and performance-driven identity.

A New Hybrid Benchmark

The highlight of the evening was the unveiling of the latest model from the Yamaha FZ Series, a name synonymous with performance and street presence since 2008. The new hybrid motorcycle integrates Yamaha’s proven 149cc fuel-injected engine with smart motor assist technology.

This next-generation hybrid system delivers:

  • Enhanced acceleration through electric assist
  • Smoother start-stop functionality
  • Improved fuel efficiency (60 kmpl+)
  • Reduced emissions

Designed for Nepal’s evolving mobility needs, the system performs especially well in urban conditions, offering seamless power delivery during low-speed riding and initial acceleration.

Performance Meets Practicality

Built on a lightweight 135 kg body, the motorcycle ensures agility and a strong power-to-weight ratio. Safety and control are enhanced with:

  • Single-channel Bosch ABS
  • 220 mm rear disc brake
  • Wide radial tyres for superior grip

The hybrid assist system further improves responsiveness, clearly distinguishing it from conventional motorcycles.

Design and Smart Features

The motorcycle reflects Yamaha’s signature styling with:

  • LED headlight with separate high/low beams
  • Integrated body sidelight
  • Two-level seating for comfort
  • Midship muffler with refined exhaust note
  • Engine under cowl for added protection and sporty appeal

Modern features such as a negative LCD instrument cluster and E20 fuel compatibility highlight its future-ready design.

Experience-Driven Launch

A dedicated Experience Zone at the venue showcased the evolution of the FZ Series from 2008 to 2026. Through interactive displays and product showcases, attendees—including media, influencers, and riders—explored the motorcycle’s design, features, and hybrid technology up close.

Strong Nationwide Support

Yamaha’s extensive network across Nepal (including 100 dealerships, 95 service points, and 117 authorized service providers (ASPs)) ensures reliable after-sales service, easy access to genuine spare parts, and a seamless ownership experience.

Vision for the Future

Speaking at the event, Vishnu Kumar Agarwal emphasized Yamaha’s forward-looking approach, highlighting its commitment to bringing advanced global innovation to Nepali riders. In closing remarks, Deepak Kumar Agrawal expressed gratitude to partners and customers, noting that the achievement reflects the collective effort of the Yamaha family.

The event concluded on a celebratory note, marking the beginning of a new era in Nepal’s motorcycle industry. With this launch, Yamaha has not only introduced a new product but also established a hybrid category, redefining performance, efficiency, and sustainability.

The future of motorcycling in Nepal begins now.
